Repairs to the Tower and Roof
At the Quinquennial Inspection in May 2013, our architect recommended that the roof and parapets be repaired. No sooner had the Bells Project been launched this work, it was soon realised that this work was critical before internal work could go ahead.
In addition, new stone louvres were fitted to two of the window openings in the belfry, to match the existing stone louvre.
The lightning conductor system was upgraded and bonded to the new roof and bell frame. The earthing point at ground level was brought into line with latest specifications and the whole system tested.
Inside the tower, the west wall was stabilised.
